Ledger Faces Criticism Over Reseller Trust and Security
A reviewer on Ethos has given hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger a negative verdict. The reviewer, who holds an Ethos score of 1427, received 98 upvotes and zero downvotes for their evaluation.
Ledger creates physical hardware wallet devices that allow users to store their crypto assets securely. The primary review centers on the relationship between the company and its official authorized resellers. Writing in Indonesian, the user points out that customers expect absolute safety when dealing with recognized partners.
The reviewer noted, "CryptoBilis menyandang status sebagai Authorized Reseller resmi yang terdaftar langsung di situs Ledger."
The reviewer stated that buying from official channels is about much more than just obtaining the physical item. The reviewer added, "Ketika pengguna membeli perangkat dari mitra resmi, mereka tidak hanya membeli alat fisik, tetapi juga membeli \"kepercayaan\" yang dijamin oleh merek Ledger."

Other users on the Ethos platform are sharply divided on the project. The overall sentiment totals show 42 negative reviews, 35 neutral reviews, and 39 positive reviews. Several highly rated reviewers expressed deep concerns about the company and its recent operational history.
One reviewer with a score of 2000 shared a negative verdict, pointing to severe security issues and software bloat. The user wrote, "Supply chain attack should have never been possible." The same user expressed frustration with the required updates and aggressive promotion of portfolio management tools. They concluded their assessment by stating, "i just want a simple hardware device.."
Another user, holding an Ethos score of 1975, gave the project a neutral rating. This reviewer explained that they used to be entirely happy buying from the company but have recently changed their outlook. The user wrote, "The customer data leak and some odd marketing decisions have also made me less confident in the company." While they have not completely abandoned the brand yet, they openly questioned its future stability.
The community feedback highlights a growing concern over security incidents and external partner management. Users expect top tier security from hardware devices, and any breach of trust creates significant friction within the user base. The platform totals clearly reflect this split, with negative reviews slightly outnumbering both positive and neutral scores across the board.
