MegaETH faces open slash vote over leadership claims
MegaETH currently faces an Ethos slash vote opened by an Ethos user with a score of 2014 under the title "Great tech with poor leadership." The proposal puts 200 points at stake for the project and will officially close on Sunday, October 25 at 10:38 Paris time.
An Ethos slash is a community vote that, if it passes, cuts the account's Ethos score, and here also cuts the scores of the 1395 supporters who backed it.
According to the data, MegaETH is pitched as a real time Ethereum compatible execution environment aiming for high throughput and extremely fast block times.
The slash alleges that the project fumbled basic operations during an initial deposit phase and failed to retain the builders it originally incubated. According to the slash, the team struggled with a broken launch flow and changing deposit caps, which damaged community confidence early on. The author claims that the project "has repeatedly failed at execution, ecosystem retention, and community trust."

The slash further alleges that the current network usage simply does not match the initial marketing narrative. The author asserts that a "token flywheel is not a substitute for a sticky ecosystem" because developers ultimately chose to launch on other networks once they had the option. The slash also accuses the leadership of providing terrible support for its main non fungible token collections and establishing bad transparency precedents regarding protocol fees.
The vote remains open and is currently leaning toward a penalty, standing at 195 upvotes and 6 downvotes.
Looking at the broader context on the Ethos Network, MegaETH maintains a largely favorable overall rating. The project review totals show 1431 positive reviews, 107 neutral reviews, and 47 negative reviews. Offering a slightly different perspective, another reviewer with a neutral stance noted that the project is ambitious but still unproven. The reviewer stated, "The team appears technically strong, and the ecosystem is growing, but much of the current enthusiasm is based on expectations rather than a long operational track record."
